What do I do with spare time???
Well, I like to do many activities during my spare time… but a few days ago I decided on being artistic (or at least try to be artistic). Here are my results:
I decided to try painting my light switch and back of my door (which is why my door is two colors instead of the usual one ;) but I believe the door will be completed another day.
Mixing colors to paint my light switch (aren’t they pretty)
The three colors (to the left) were for my flowers on the picture.
The original “completed” light switch cover.
The end result (excuse the missing screw and the crack ;)
By the way, I have not officially decided what to paint on the door so if you have an idea, let me know.

Re: Prayer
After much prayer, the family has passed through part of the tough time, but still need to be lifted up in our prayers as the rest is resolved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who called you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-25
“The Lord bless you and keep; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ~ Numbers 6:24-26
Prayer
As we headed home from church tonight we got a text message from a close family friend. They are going through a tough time right now and are in much need of prayer. So I am asking that those who read this will keep them in their prayers.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who called you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-25
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance .” ~Psalm 42:5
“Oh send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to your tabernacle.” ~ Psalm 43:3
“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to You, Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline your ear to me; in the day that I call, answer me speedily. But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations. You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.” ~Psalms 102:1,2,12,13,17
“The Lord bless you and keep; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ~ Numbers 6:24-26
Experimental hairstyles
I saw a picture of a waterfall braid in a girl’s hair and wanted to learn how it was done so after watching a few videos and experimenting on my two adopted sisters/friends hair. Here are the finished looks…
(Please excuse the quality of the photos. ;)
Amazing Story!!!
I found this video on our friend’s blog and really enjoyed Ian and Larissa’s example of marriage modeling Christ and the church. I would encourage you to read their blog: http://prayforian.blogspot.com.
Let us know what you think!
“The below video is a little glimpse into our lives, by Desiring God, a ministry led by John Piper that has had an enormous impact on the way we view suffering. Here also is a link to the video and a letter as well.
Another day, and still amazed at what God has produced with this video. As I write this, our video has been played 305,000 times. We have been blessed to hear from so many kind people and it makes us look forward to heaven even more.” ~ Larissa
P.S. I found this interesting Puritan Prayer from the 1600’s:
The Valley of Vision
“Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly, Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in the depths but see Thee in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold Thy glory. Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up, that to be low is to be high, that the broken heart is the healed heart, that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul is the victorious soul, that to have nothing is to possess all, that to bear the cross is to wear the crown, that to give is to receive, that the valley is the place of vision. Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from the deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Thy stars shine; let me find Thy light in my darkness, Thy life in my death, Thy joy in my sorrow, Thy grace in my sin, Thy riches in my poverty, Thy glory in my valley.”
Vision Forum Poll Troubles
http://www.visionforum.com/news/blogs/doug/2012/05/
This godly, Christian organization has handled the situation with the utmost care and and Christ-like attitude. A few verses I found while doing devotions seemed very appropriate…
First Peter 4:13-16 and verse 19
“But rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter… Therefore let those who suffer according to will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
Happy Mothers Day!!!
The past couple weeks have been very busy for our family. Now that things are finally slowing down I am able to post… Also there are many things I am wanting to post (like strawberry picking and conferences that we have gone to) and I will get to those one day ; )
For now I am going to post a big thank you to mothers everywhere, but most importantly to my mom and sister, who are amazing mothers!
A well known Bible passage that comes to my mind as I write this is Proverbs 31:10-31 (NKJV)
‘Who can find virtuous wife? For her price is far above rubies, the heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hand to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hands to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongues is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.’
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
P.S. Here are some pretty gardening pictures!
And the cute little bunny rabbit we saw in our yard.
